BAE Systems Wins Parliament House CCTV upgrade contract

Canberra, Australia - BAE Systems has won a significant new contract to replace the existing Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) management system at Parliament House in Canberra.

The acquisition and support contract, valued at approximately AUD $4 million, will require BAE Systems’ Joint Business Unit to –

• Design, construct and deliver a new network based CCTV management system interfacing with   cameras as well as an existing building management system.

• Refurbish the control rooms within Parliament House including provision of new video walls, operator and supervisor consoles/desks, lighting and acoustic management.

• Manage the transition from the legacy system to the new system, and

• Provide through life support for the system for a period of five years.

The new CCTV management system is based on the Universal Video Management System (UVMS) product from BAE Systems Insyte in the UK.

Kim Scott, Joint Business Unit Director, said that the new system would be integrated with high end video analytics capable of detecting events such as unattended bags or stationary vehicles.
