Operational in navies worldwide, the launchers can be easily modified to fire varied lightweight torpedoes to suit operational requirements.
Mk 32 Series – Surface Vessel Torpedo Tubes (SVTT)
The Mk 32 lightweight torpedo launchers are suitable for launching US Mk 44 and Mk 46 torpedoes, plus UK Sting Ray and Italian A244S.The Mk32 launcher range includes triple barrelled (Mod 5) or twin barrelled (Mod 9) deck mounted launchers, as fitted by most of the world’s navies. The normal shipboard installation consists of two launchers – one mounted on the starboard side and one on the port side.
Shipborne Torpedo Weapon System (STWS)
Our STWS range includes the UKRN STWS 1 and STWS 2. As a respected manufacturer, Insyte is the Design Authority for the STWS 2, which was developed from the Mk 32 system. Triple barrelled, the launchers are normally fitted in pairs, port and starboard.
The STWS 1 is optimised for use with both the US Mk 44 and Mk 46 torpedoes and the Italian A244s. This system is fitted on ships in the navies of Brazil, Chile, New Zealand and Nigeria.
The STWS 2, used in conjunction with the UK Sting Ray and the US Mk 46, is deployed with the UK RN Type 22 frigates and the T42 destroyers. With full remote control functionality from the Combat Centre, the STWS 2 can be adapted to launch other lightweight torpedoes as required.
All our launch tubes feature as standard a totally enclosed and environmentally controlled atmosphere to maintain loaded torpedoes in a safe and serviceable state – vital when operating in a climatically hostile climate.
