PROJECT SHOWCASE

BAE Systems’ information sharing service is supported by integration labs in Washington, D.C., Charleston, South Carolina, Annapolis Junction, Maryland, and Tewksbury, Massachusetts. This infrastructure enables the company to research, develop, test, and evaluate leading-edge solutions to solve its customers’ most challenging information assurance problems. BAE Systems’ integration labs are staffed by CISSP, CISA, and/or NSA IAM-certified subject matter experts.

BAE Systems has successfully engineered and deployed a vast array of technical security controls across the globe, including deploying and supporting public key infrastructure to over 100 ships in the U.S. Pacific Fleet; implementing identity management safeguards such as public key infrastructure, biometrics, and tokens for a variety of clients; designing and implementing secure wireless solutions for various agencies; and leading the integration of the Department of Defense enterprise-wide vulnerability management initiative.

For the Justice Department, BAE Systems supports 30,000 employees from a wide number of Justice organizations dispersed across 789 locations. In one successful task for Justice’s Criminal Division, BAE Systems performed the first implementation of Active Directory on the network and received an “Outstanding” satisfaction rating from the customer. In another task for the Executive Office of U.S. Attorneys, BAE Systems implemented the Microsoft Project Enterprise Solution, and a BlackBerry Enterprise Server that integrated the office’s Microsoft Exchange Server and incorporated a security architecture that ensured incoming and outgoing wireless E-mail was encrypted using the triple data encryption standard. In accomplishing this task, BAE Systems deployed and customized 13,200 computers and 1,108 switches in 239 locations within eight months.

BAE Systems’ 3D Production Center produces solid terrain models (STM) using technology licensed from strategic partner Solid Terrain Models, Inc. STM models combine the worlds of flat maps, satellite and aerial imagery, and 3D physical terrain models into physical models that provide a level of understanding not found in any computer model, ordinary topographic model, or flat map. Models can be any size, from table top to wall mounted, and even tiled together to fill an entire exhibition hall. BAE Systems has produced models for a number of users, most recently the Pentagon J2 and the 18th Airborne Corps.
