The Precision Guidance Kit (PGK) is a revolutionary innovation developed by BAE Systems to dramatically improve the effectiveness of today's cannon artillery.
Accurate - PGK fuzes can be employed on 155-mm and 105-mm projectiles to provide near-precision performance.
Affordable - The PGK is the most cost-effective approach to improving the accuracy of in-service cannon artillery ammunition.
PGK provides course correction to conventional projectiles resulting in critical, near-precision accuracy needed to support ground forces in close combat. PGK allows cannon artillery to perform with accuracy similar to Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) application to conventional air-delivered ordnance.
Available - BAE Systems can deliver PGK in less than 24 months to rapidly meet the requirements of the Army's warfighters.
Design/Development - BAE Systems has minimized development risk by incorporating a GPS sub-system with proven control technology in its PGK design. Successful live-fire demonstrations at Yuma Proving Ground in June 2005 demonstrated that PGK meets Technical Readiness Level 6 criteria.
