Alistair Imrie
Alastair joined British Aerospace in February 1989 as the HR Director responsible for the Chadderton and Woodford sites in Manchester. Alastair then held HR and General Management positions including Commercial Director for the Commercial Aircraft Sector focusing on M&A and Corporate Restructuring.
In 1999 he became Managing Director responsible for the post merger integration of British Aerospace and Marconi Electronic Systems.
In 2002 Alastair was appointed Group Managing Director responsible for establishing a Shared Services business within BAE Systems. Shared Services has responsibility for Property and Environmental Services, Advanced Technology Centres, Indirect Procurement (£800M spend pa), Enterprise IT, UK HR and, Workplace Services, University Partnerships, Technology Brokering, Insurable Risk Services, Corporate Air Travel, Design and Construction services and Customer Information Services.
In January 2003 he was appointed Group HR Director and a member of the Executive Committee, but retained his responsibility for Shared Services.
Alastair is a Non-Executive Director of SEMTA (the UK Sector Skills Council for Science, Engineering and Manufacturing), Exostar (e-Trading Exchange, registered in Delaware, USA) and Singapore British Engineering (a joint venture between Singapore Technologies and BAE Systems).
Alastair was born in 1947 in Dundee, Scotland, and lives with his wife Susan in Cheshire. He has four children.
