Hägglunds´ history
BAE Systems Hägglunds predecessor, AB Hägglund & Söner, was established in 1899 in the town of Örnsköldsvik, 550 km north of Stockholm.
Starting as a woodworking business, the company over the years came to be involved with a wide range of products, from furniture to trainer aircraft. Hägglunds' experience in combat vehicles dates back to 1957, when tank turrets were produced for a Swedish Army retrofit of a main battle tank. Since that time, Hägglunds has been extremely successful in its home market, developing and supplying most of the all terrain and armoured vehicles required by the Swedish Army and has delivered military vehicles to more than 40 countries world wide.
