Submarine centre of excellence
Submarine Solutions is the prime contractor for the Astute submarine programme, the largest and most powerful attack submarines ever ordered by the Royal Navy.
As well as being responsible for the design, build and initial in-service support of four Astutes, Submarine Solutions is also home to the Future Submarine Programme office, where a collaboration made up of BAE Systems, Ministry of Defence, Rolls Royce and Babcock Marine personnel are working on a concept design for a successor to the nuclear deterrent carrying Vanguard class.
Engineers from Submarine Solutions are involved in the design of mid sections for future aircraft carriers, HMS Queen Elizabeth and HMS Prince of Wales as well.
