We are on target to deliver six Type 45 Anti-Air Warfare Destroyers, a quantum leap forward in surface warship design and capability.
BAE Systems is a member of the Aircraft Carrier Alliance. The Alliance was set up to design, build and deliver two CVF aircraft carriers to the Royal Navy . The ships will work together with the Type 45 Destroyers to increase naval capability.
The Landing Ship Dock (Auxiliary) contract initially included the build of two ships; The Mounts Bay and The Cardigan Bay, to a design provided by the Ministry of Defence for inclusion in its Amphibious Task Group. In 2006, we were also awarded the contract to finish a third in this class; The Lyme Bay . BAE Systems Surface Fleet Solutions will provide post contract support for the whole LSD(A) programme.
