FLDP DEVELOPMENT STRUCTURE

The UK Finance Leader Development Programme (FLDP) was created by Finance Directors from across BAE Systems to develop a “talent pipeline” that will deliver high-calibre graduates with the ambition and motivation to become the Finance Directors of tomorrow. The programme combines a fully supported route to the CIMA qualification with a wider commitment to learning and development to turn talented graduates into the function’s senior leaders of the future.

If you join us, you can expect a finance role that offers significant responsibility from the outset. In the first three years, you will undertake three 12-month placements in a range of geographical locations in the UK, gaining experience of financial accounting, financial reporting, management accounting and project accounting. In addition to doing a real job, you will study for your CIMA qualification. This will take great commitment from you, but we’ll offer you unrivalled support.

After achieving your CIMA qualification, the FLDP scheme continues with a two-year senior accountancy position offering managerial experience, including a minimum of 20 days’ allocated training and development. This will equip you to launch yourself into a leadership role at the end of the scheme. Our CIMA pass rate is consistently over 90% per sitting, six of our FLDP graduates have been CIMA prize-winners in the last few years and most of our FLDP scheme members are promoted to executive finance positions within four to five years of joining.

You will be given all the tools and support you need to perform to your best, alongside regular performance appraisals and development planning to keep you on track. Be in no doubt that it will demand total dedication and determination on your part, but it will open the way to one of the most satisfying careers there is.
