ENGINEERING ROLES
BAE Systems is renowned for its engineering excellence. It forms the foundation of our business. With over 18,000 engineers in the UK, they look after the design, development, testing and production of over 100 new inventions each year. As well as a number of existing best-in-class products.
So you could be working on projects that might involve thousands of people either providing ongoing support for products in service or assisting in the development of the next generation of defence and security systems.
We have roles in the following areas:
SYSTEMS ENGINEERS
This is an essential discipline in the lifespan of our products across various platforms as well as large-scale communications, training and operational systems.
SUPPORT ENGINEERS
These roles involve you in all aspects of in-service support, including designing support services, support systems or test equipment for a range of £multi-million contracts.
SOFTWARE ENGINEERS
You’ll be involved in the full product lifecycle of electronic products, from design, implementation, test phases and product qualification.
ELECTRICAL & ELECTRONIC ENGINEERS
You’ll make decisions about electronic product content, optimise hardware and software design concepts as well as develop sophisticated design processes through to the testing of complex intelligent products.
MANUFACTURING & PRODUCTION
This diverse part of our organisation spans most of the BAE Systems business units. You’ll get exposed to a variety of areas including IT, Control and Logistics and Direct Material Procurement.
MECHANICS & STRUCTURES
This includes Physical, Structural and Mechanical Systems through the analysis, design, development and testing of complex intelligent products.
MANUFACTURING ENGINEERS
You’ll help ensure that our products developments can be effectively and efficiently manufactured by being involved in the initial stages of the product lifecycle.
RESEARCH SCIENTISTS/ENGINEERS
In these roles, you’ll undertake research aimed at acquiring technology and winning business. It’s an opportunity to produce outputs and results that will demonstrate original thought, all in a business where these thoughts and ideas can come alive.
As you’d expect from a business as diverse and dynamic as ours, we have a vast range of opportunities for graduates from all engineering, numerate and scientific disciplines and subjects. So whatever your engineering background we’d still like to hear from you.
