The Trading and Services business of BAE Systems Aircraft Services Group has won an exclusive mandate from a consortium of six banks for the re-marketing of four Airbus A319s and one Airbus A321 previously operated by the Belgian flag carrier, Sabena.
BAE Systems has teamed up with Airclaims Ltd to provide the aircraft owners with a comprehensive range of services including the retrieval of the aircraft, auditing of the aircraft and its records, storage and maintenance in addition to the marketing services. The aircraft are currently situated at BAE Systems Aviation Services site at Filton, UK and will be made available for sale or lease.
This important mandate marks the growing success of the venture that has already placed a number of aircraft into new markets on behalf of other owners.
Commenting on the deal Jon Skirrow who heads up BAE Systems Trading and Services says "We are delighted to be working for the aircraft owners and to be building upon our working relationship with Airclaims Ltd. The services which we are providing are built upon our experience in aircraft sales and asset management and are vital for aircraft owners and financiers to maximise value from their aircraft especially in these turbulent times."
The agreement is for one A321-211 (msn 1012) and four A319-112s (msns 1068, 1145,1336 and 1388).
The consortium of banks involved consists of Citibank (the security trustee), BNP Paribas, KfW, Dresdner Bank Luxembourg, Fortis and Deutsche VerkehrsBank.
