BAE Systems Regional Aircraft has gained Limited Airframe Approval for work on the Dornier 328 by the US Federal Aviation Administration. This agreement has permitted Regional Aircraft to handle specific work for Washington-Dulles based Atlantic Coast Airlines (ACA) on their fleet of 32 Dornier 328s' leading edge de-icing boots, main ships batteries and emergency batteries.
The announcement builds on the establishment of a joint 126,000-square-foot maintenance facility with Mesaba Airlines in Cincinnati, Ohio, in May 2002.
"In the case of ACA, the company was delighted that we could provide limited parts support for their Dorniers as well as our own fleet aircraft of Jetstreams," said David Speirs, Senior Vice President North America. "This service is delivered at a time and cost that meets the customer's requirements and has significantly enhanced the overall working relationship between the two companies."
Supporting the overall North American regional aircraft customer support activities for both the BAe 146/Avro RJ and Jetstream fleets, Regional Aircraft has improved working relationships with its customers by developing the capability to offer flexible and cost- effective maintenance solutions for its customers through this partnering arrangement with Mesaba Airlines.
