Andrew Davies Appointed Managing Director Of BAE SystemsÂ’ Land Systems Business

BAE Systems today announce the appointment of Andrew Davies as managing director of its newly created Land Systems business. The company announced on September 2nd that it had brought together Alvis and RO Defence to create Land Systems, a new leader in the land sector.

It is also announced that following the completion of the acquisition of Alvis by BAE Systems and the delisting of Alvis from the London Stock Exchange, Nick Prest has stepped down as Chairman and CEO of Alvis and will leave the company on 30th September. Nick will support BAE Systems in a consultancy role for a transitional period to assist with the integration of Alvis into our Land Systems business.

Andrew, who reports to CS&S and Land Systems' group managing director, Ian King, said: "I am delighted to be take up this exciting opportunity. The creation of Land Systems provides customers with a clear focus as they look for increased systems content and through-life support solutions. Our focus for the rest of the year will be on bringing together Alvis and RO Defence teams and creating an integrated business."

Prior to this appointment Andrew was BAE Systems' Group Strategy Director. Married with three children, Andrew joined British Aerospace Civil Aircraft Division in 1985, after graduating from Sheffield University with a Business degree. He has worked in a variety of senior commercial and management roles since that date.
