Fairford, United Kingdom. – BAE Systems and the Royal Air Force Charitable Trust Enterprises, organisers of the Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT), have announced that the defence and aerospace company is extending its title sponsorship of the world’s largest military air show for a further five years until 2012.
BAE Systems has been the title sponsor of RIAT since 2000 and had previously been title sponsor as British Aerospace since 1996.
The Tattoo which is held annually at RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire, UK over a weekend in July, attracts over 150,000 spectators every year and has hosted thousands of aircraft from 50 different nations since its inception in 1971. RIAT specifically supports the activities of the Royal Air Force Charitable Trust which assists a variety of Royal Air Force-related charities including the Royal Air Force Association and the RAF Benevolent Fund as well as the Air Cadet Association and Flying Scholarships for the Disabled.
