London, United Kingdom - Having completed a three-year term of appointment, Sir Nigel Rudd, a non-executive director, will retire from the Board of BAE Systems plc with effect from 31 December 2009.
Dick Olver, Chairman of BAE Systems said: "Nigel has served the Board with distinction and is leaving to dedicate more time to his private business commitments and other interests. These include his roles as chairman of BAA Limited, Pendragon plc and Invensys plc. He also holds a number of other public appointments, which from next year will include the position of Chancellor of Loughborough University. Nigel's extensive experience and his chairmanship of the Remuneration Committee have been of great value to the Board, and we wish him every success for the future."
Carl Symon, a non-executive director, has been appointed Chairman of the Board's Remuneration Committee in place of Sir Nigel Rudd.
