Developing an 'on brand' website doesn't mean that your site needs to look exactly like all other BAE Systems sites, but it does mean retaining certain elements to give a coherent appearance to our online communications.

Templates

To maintain consistency of the online identity eight standard html templates that encompass the majority of content requirements are available from the e-Media Team Manager. When developing a new site these templates should be used.

Specialist sites

If a site has a specialist audience, it is possible to develop a site that sits outside of the corporate platform. This site would have its own address, and interpret the online brand in a more expansive way, appropriate to the intended audience. However, to develop such a site you will need to demonstrate why you require such a site to the Dot Com Governance Board who can be contacted via the e-Media Team.

Microsites

A microsite is a temporary, standalone website launched on the corporate platform but with its own navigation. Microsites cannot be developed by external agencies, but must be developed through the e-Media Team Manager. Typical areas that are covered are bids, events and exhibitions. If you require a microsite, then consider using the Microsite Toolkit before commissioning new templates.
