Imagery
Great images bring a brand to life, connecting to audiences in a direct way that goes beyond words. Four main levels of imagery communicate the breadth and quality of the company and our capabilities, products and services - our people, thought leaders, capabilities, products and services, and customers.
All images must support the BAE Systems values of Trusted, Innovative and Bold and our culture of Total Performance.
1 People
Our people are at the heart of all that we do, so include people where possible - concentrating, interacting, discussing, listening and contributing. Real people and places convey the breadth of our business whilst also representing cultural differences.
2 Thought leaders
BAE Systems are involved in complex projects created by genuinely world-class thinkers, developers and engineers, many of whom are leaders in their field. Surface the high-level of thinking in the company with images that have a ‘consultancy' quality.
3 Capabilities, products and services
The different levels of our image strategy come together to communicate the work that we do. Particularly when showing product, choose images that highlight the benefit to the customer, showing our products in motion, used, or the situations or environments that they are being used in.
4 Customers
Supporting our customers is central to our company and the products and services we provide. Use ‘real' imagery taken in the places where they are used to focus on the people, the situation, the story and the real advantage that we are delivering every day.
Corporate Responsibility
All imagery used both internally and externally should be in line with our approach in corporate responsibility, and particularly the areas of diversity and inclusion, and safety.
Important: Model Release Forms
BAE Systems' Model Release forms must be signed by all individuals whose photos are being taken for internal or external publicity and communications purposes, prior to or at the time of the photo shoot. These must be retained on file. Please see the Photography Brief for more information.
Combining images
Photomontaging is not allowed as a way of combining available imagery to ‘improve it' or to make it more ‘interesting.' Do not produce single image photomontages using vignettes, drop shadows, or any other similar techniques.
BAE Systems Digital Asset Management (DAM) system
The latest approved imagery across a range of subject matter from people to product, country to charity, can be found at the BAE Systems Digital Asset Management (DAM) system.
