Advanced antenna development

Antenna SystemsBAE Systems has a long history of antenna research and development for many applications, including:

  • Low-radar cross-section antenna technology that provides high-efficiency (gain), and is used for identification friend or foe (IFF), wing arrays, UHF, satellite communications (SATCOM), Voicecom, Beacon, Altimeter, MIDS, flight termination, GPS-controlled pattern antennas (CRPA), and fixed-reception pattern antennas
  • Low-cost phased arrays used for SATCOM hybrid scan, IFF switched beam, microwave landing systems, and commercial cellular applications
  • Conformal antenna subsystems that offer low-profile, high-gain performance for L-band, omni, altimeters, and GPS. Conformal antennas are in production for the F/A-18E/F and F-16 aircraft.
  • Precision GPS ground reference antenna for ground-based augmentation system and large area synchronous
  • Multimode and multi-element small-footprint GPS CRPAs
  • Wearable antennas for VHF, UHF, and GPS
  • Link 16 and tactical targeting network technology data link antenna
  • Open-array antennas for reducing wind-loading (developed for the Federal Aviation Administration)
  • Broadband HF, VHF, and UHF tactical antennas for military vehicles, including helicopters, tanks, and HMMWVs
  • Reflector antennas for EHF SATCOM
  • High-isolation, multifunction multi-band antennas
  • UHF SATCOM buoy communication systems
