Surveillance cameras
Security professionals responsible for safeguarding our borders, ports, nuclear power plants, and other high-value and high-danger assets have been deploying fixed-mount, uncooled infrared (IR) cameras manufactured by BAE Systems as a critical component of their overall day and night situational awareness program.
Based on BAE Systems’ uncooled MicroIR® core technology, IRIS offers fixed-mount IR cameras that provide superior 320x240 or 640x480 imagery independent of darkness, smoke, and other common obscurants used for visual concealment. The modular design of the IR cameras results in mission-specific configuration flexibility and ease of integration for rapid deployment in the harshest environments.
BORDER PERIMETER
IR cameras manufactured by BAE Systems are being deployed throughout the world to provide high-resolution thermal imagery as part of an enhanced day/night situational awareness program developed to secure critical borders and asset perimeters.
In a typical fixed-mount border and perimeter surveillance application, BAE Systems’ IR cameras are mounted to a positioning device located on top of a pole or structure that provides an ideal vantage point relative to the zone under surveillance. Wireless communication is provided for transmitting the IR imagery to a remote command center and controlling the IR camera and positioning device, resulting in enhanced 24-7 situational awareness.
PORT AND HARBOR SURVEILLANCE
With the tightening of security at ports and harbors throughout the world, uncooled IR cameras are the ideal solution for enhancing day and night surveillance, and especially for their ability to provide imagery in foggy and dark conditions.
IR cameras also allow security professionals to monitor vast areas of open water and coastline and detect threats at greater distances, providing responders with increased time for intervention and threat reduction.
HIGH-VALUE AND HIGH-DANGER ASSETS
Security professionals at high-value (tunnels and bridges) and high-danger (nuclear power and petrochemical plants) assets have been actively seeking ways to enhance their access monitoring capability and overall facility surveillance. Uncooled IR cameras offer continuous monitoring by providing thermal imagery of critical areas, independent of darkness and common obscurants that render alternative technologies ineffective.
