The monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMIC) design group provides a wide range of MMIC design expertise, including:
- More than 500 designs at frequencies spanning from 100 MHz to 200 GHz
- Experience with a wide range of circuit types, including:
– Amplifiers: low-noise, power, gain blocks, VGAs, limiting amps and log amps
– Control circuits: phase shifters, switches
– Frequency generation and conversion: oscillators, mixers, multipliers
– Mixed signal: return-to-zero, track-and-hold - Designs into both internal and external foundries
The MMIC design group has an extensive array of design tools, including:
- Agilent ADS and AWR Microwave Office platforms, Sonnet EM electromagnetic simulator
- In-house proprietary nonlinear models for accurate power and intermod prediction
- DW2000 for circuit layout/reticle assembly
- Foundry manuals, design kits, and design support to implement external designs in BAE Systems’ MMIC processes.
