Portable, Real-Time Image Mining Engine (PRIME)

The portable, real-time image mining engine (PRIME) processes multi-sensor data streams in real time to generate a composite image with optimized target detection. PRIME applications include digital night-vision goggles, airborne ground surveillance, and airborne anti-missile defense.

PRIME works by embedding multi-sensor fusion algorithms with signature-based detection algorithms on real-time commercial, off-the-shelf hardware, such as graphics processing units and field-programmable gate arrays. PRIME uses a locally adaptive, contrast-enhancement approach to ensure information is not lost from any input channels. The adaptive PRIME algorithms are robust with respect to changing operating conditions, target sets, and mission requirements.
