The multi-use ground station (MUGS) is a prototype mobile ground station command, control, and communications test bed to prove the operational utility of low-earth orbit and near-space assets; collecting and disseminating information to the warfighter.
MUGS supports the joint warfighting space architecture, encompassing space, near-space, and land assets. MUGS will be able to acquire, track, and command rapidly-moving space and near-space platforms and downlink missions.
BAE Systems is the MUGS system integrator under the STARS contract with the U.S. Army Space & Missile Defense Battle Lab.
